Joseph Wolpert describes himself with a grin as a "born again, Spirit-Filled, Pentecostal, Charismatic, neo-Pentecostal, Renewal, Progressive Evangelical, Pauline Christian". He says "anyone who says he has all of the answers - doesn't know all of the questions". Internationally known teacher, writer, and speaker - Reverend Wolpert is perhaps best known for conducting Healing Meetings where "signs, wonders, healings, and miracles" often occur. He is quick not to take any credit for himself - "Any and all healings come from the Triune God of Historic Christian Faith - the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - I have nothing to do with any of it", he explains. A practicing alcoholic for nearly twenty years, Wolpert was saved from complete destruction when he met a group of people "who share their experience strength and hope with one another". With their help and by the Grace of God, Wolpert says - "I stopped drinking". Wolpert continues, "Then another equally amazing miracle occurred - I was called to 'the ministry'. So, in 1983 I went off to Unity School of Christianity (the New Thought Movement's largest and best organized group) and graduated two years later. After that, I pastored a wonderful Unity Church in Alhambra, CA. for about 3 1/2 years. Then I returned to my alma mater where I taught for the next 5 1/2 years. Something happened in September, 1992 that changed my life once again - I received 'the Baptism of the Holy Spirit'. This is central and common to Pentecostals and Charismatics but not to New Thought and New Age Groups. The divine guidance to carry this work to others was incredibly strong. So, I knew it was time for me to leave my teaching position. Since then - I have literally traveled all across the United States with trips to Mexico teaching on the Goodness of God, the salvation that is offered through Jesus Christ, and the need for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. And yes, we have seen God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit do great things. Jesus Christ is more real to me than you are - He is more real to me than I am to myself.
